Wooden parquet is a solid wood floor covering that is generally already finished in the factory. Lacquer or oil is mostly used as finishing. The product range includes 1-3-ply parquets.
The wooden parquet consists of several layers - fir or pine is often used as the base layer, the top layer is precious wood.
Precious wood can be either oak, ash or an exotic wood species. The thickness of the precious wood layer is usually between 2.5 - 6 mm, depending on the manufacturer and product.
The upper part of the parquet can be chamfered (a small cut at the edges of the board). Bevelled parquet hides cracks that may appear as a result of the wood living.
The upper part of the precious wood can also be brushed or aged to give the floor an older or more distinctive look.
The wooden parquet is installed either floating (on the underlay) or glued down. Glued down parquet is more stable and does not vibrate when walking on the floor.
Most types of wood are suitable for installing underfloor heating, except beech, maple, bamboo.
When installing underfloor heating, the manufacturer's instructions must be followed.
